The Hydroxysteroid dehydrogenases are a group of alcohol oxidoreductases that catalyze the dehydrogenation of hydroxysteroids.
There are four types, classified by the number of the carbon acted upon:
Alcohol dehydrogenase · Aldo-keto reductase (1A1, 1B1, 1B10, 1C1, 1C3, 1C4, 7A2) · Aldose reductase · Carbohydrate dehydrogenases · Carnitine dehydrogenase · DXP reductoisomerase · Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase · Glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase · HMG-CoA reductase · 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase · Beta-hydroxybutyryl-CoA dehydrogenase · Isocitrate dehydrogenase · IMP dehydrogenase · Β-Ketoacyl ACP reductase · Lactate dehydrogenase · Malate dehydrogenase · Phosphogluconate dehydrogenase · L-threonine dehydrogenase · L-xylulose reductase · Sorbitol dehydrogenase
aldosterone: 18-hydroxylase
cortisol/cortisone: 17α-hydroxylase · 11β dehydrogenase (HSD11B1, HSD11B2)
Steroid metabolism: sulfatase (Steroid sulfatase) · sulfotransferase (SULT1A1, SULT2A1)
